Construction

In these economically challenging times, contractors face more and more challenges. Worrying whether you are covered for your business’s risk should not be one of those challenges

From construction defect to pollution liability, Krauter & Company is well versed in deploying customized solutions for protecting your exposures.

Whether you are an artisan contractor, general contractor, or buying an owner controlled insurance program, your exposures will still be the same. It is important that you have a partner that can help identify those exposures that put you at risk and work toward transferring that risk to protect your financial stability.

Program design can include:

  • Construction Defect
  • Builder’s Risk
  • Environmental/Pollution
  • Business Interruption
  • Inland Marine
  • Project Delay
  • Worker’s Compensation
  • Third-Party Liability
  • Specialized coverage for EIFS installation, asbestos, remediation, etc

WHY KRAUTER CONSTRUCTION?
Many contractors overlook their exposure from hiring contractors. Certificates of insurance should be reviewed from all sub contractors to assure that they have an “A” rated carrier and that your firm has been named as an additional insured for liability claims including completed operations coverage. Many subcontractor policies will eliminate completed operations which will leave you covering the damages.

Contractors on large deductible programs often overlook the exposure of having more than one deductible at risk. If an employee is injured on the job due to the negligence of the general contractor, after the worker’s compensation is paid that employee may seek additional damages from the general contractor. If you have named that general contractor as an additional insured on your policy and the lawsuit tendered, not only will you be at risk for the workers’ compensation deductible, but also a deductible on the general liability coverage. A clash endorsement will limit you to only having to pay one deductible to the same carrier.

Effective safety and health programs are important for any contractor. In today’s competitive environment, contractors are being asked to not only show their safety programs but also disclose their experience modifiers, incident rates and OSHA citations. An effective safety program will work to reduce workplace exposure and to protect your employees while on the job. An OSHA 10 training course for your employees will not only bring you into compliance in many states but also give you a leading edge on contracts. Krauter & Company’s team of dedicated construction specialists work with you to design a program specific to your needs and assist you from bid process through the policy statute of limitations.
